STEM Learning for Little Ones at Jungle Joe’s

“STEM” learning is a relatively new term in the world of childhood education. But what exactly does this popular acronym mean, and how does it apply to your kiddos?

STEM education focuses on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. The STEM approach integrates these disciplines into cohesive lessons and activities that help children strengthen their knowledge in more than one area at a time. While these subject areas may sound a bit too dense for preschoolers and even young elementary students, kids engage in STEM learning naturally pretty much every day. By providing structured activities for our kids, we give them opportunities to engage in STEM learning and develop their critical thinking skills along the way.

Popular STEM classes often involve building pint-sized models of natural events or complex structures to illustrate how they work. Kids can collect supplies, build structures, and research their creations on the web to learn more. A hands-on approach to STEM subjects allows kids to hone their sensory skills and learn kinesthetically, while also using technology to reinforce their experience with facts and context into weather events, math equations, physics and much more! If you’re looking for a fun way to introduce your little one to STEM activities, Jungle Joe’s has you covered.

We’re hosting our first Exploration Station STEM Learning Series that offers hands on learning activities focusing on Science, Technology, Engineering and Math! This STEM Series is best for kids 3 to 6 years old. Adult supervision is required. Tickets are $24.99 for our Jungle Visitors, and $9.99 for our Jungle Membership Explorers! Tickets cover the Jungle Joe’s entry fee – kids are welcome to stay and play after the activity. Classes kick off in May with Weather Whizzies, where kiddos will learn all about how rain clouds are formed. In June, join us in learning the language of computers! Complete a fun, hands-on, technology focused exercise will build sensory skills and number sense while kids create their own birthday binary code necklace! Look out for a brand new class each month, with activities like an Engineering Wall in June, Dinosaur Graphing in August, and Water Music this September!
